More CD Suncatchers
May. 27th, 2005 07:57 pma friend just moved into a house with a big window high up on the ceiling, so she wanted to do a grouping of them. so i made her the suncatchers behind the cut

i've been using glass beads, and i'll be stopping that. i want to make one for each of my friends that wants them, but i've been using three bracelets worth of beads for each suncatcher, and yikes.
and they do such cool things with plastic beads, i can't wait to make the switch. these things are also hell on dremel sanding tool. the plastic melts on them and renders them smooth and useless. i'm wondering if using one of the grinding stones would be better. i'm also planning to get a round diamond bit so i can cut glass, maybe that will work. the dremel cutting disks are impossible to use with any accuracy on the CDs, they disks are just too big. any thoughts from fellow dremel users would be greatly appreciated.
