another shirt
May. 29th, 2005 05:30 pmAll right, since everyone seemed to like the shirts I painted, here's the one I cut up.

I made this out of a men's Hawaiian shirt. I had a button-front tank top with this cut when I was a kid, and I loved it. It's a hard style to find, though.
So here's how I did it:
I found a huge shirt with the length, fabric and color I liked. Then I cut the sleeves and collar off (just off, for now) and took in the sides of the shirt, from the bottom of the arm holes to the waist, so it'd fit me. Then I cut out and put seams in the arm holes and neckline. Finally I split the bottoms of the seams at the sides.
Accomplishes that hip "flowy" tank top look without making you look like you're pregnant, smoking and yelling at the dog to shaddup. I recommend it.
I should warn you that most of these shirts are made out of RAYON, which equals fray city. I'm not sure how long it's going to last.
