what to do with nifty cards?

my stepmother has really good taste in cards, so i feel bad throwing out the ones she sends me. my family likes to send me cards for almost every occassion imaginable. can you guys suggest some good ways to recycle them? when we were little we used to make tiny boxes with lids, but i can't remember how to do that, and i'd like to see some other ideas too.
