. . . I'm a dumbass!
I've figured out why my circles were screwing up. I was making my loop out of my base chain (like I was starting a granny square) and not single crocheting the length before making it into a circle.
**slaps forehead** no wonder it was looking retarded.
I picked up this old 80s book (The Pattern Library: Crochet) and it showed the part of making a round and I realized I was doing it wrong. Such a dumbass.
BTW, for crocheters, I'd suggest hunting for this book around Amazon or something (I'm rentin' my from the library). ITs got all sorts of stitch patters for afghans, lace, and regular stitches. Its really cool. And since its published in Britian, our fellow graft grrls across the pond will find it an easy read.
THanks for those who helped me. I'll be putting your suggestions and the books together. I've got a few projects I'm making plans for (I've got a first birthday coming up. . .). I'll be sure to post what I find.
