Earrings and beet-dyed socks

These are earrings and a matchy pendant I made for my brother's girlfriend! The stones are kyanite (sp?)



For those of you who aren't Katrina, these are wool socks that I dyed with the water leftover from boiling beets! I first soaked the socks in cold water that I had added about added 1/2 cup of vinegar to, and then simmered them in the beety water for about 1/2 an hour. They're pretty! but not that red... too bad.
