Hello crafty ladies and gents! I haven't posted here in a little bit, so here are some pictures of my recent crafts: a modified t-shirt, a purses, and some coin pouches (super super easy!)

A few years ago, I heard this band called Small Brown Bike, and I loved them. Luckily for me, they came to Ottawa several times so I got to see them often. At the first SBB show I went to, I got this t-shirt, a youth size large.

Before..

I stopped listening to them, and stopped wearing the shirt because of the way it fit - it was bigger than I liked, the sleeves were kinda long.. I just stopped wearing it. Then, a few weeks ago I decided to modify it, so I went and bought some stripy knit fabric, with white, navy, and sparkly red stripes. I took in the sides of the t-shirt, cut off the sleeves and neck, and turned it into a tank top. I added a strip of my knit fabric across the bottom, leaving enough fabric that I can make a knot on the left side. I took pics throughout the process, but decided not to post them all. Anyway, here's the finished product:

..after!

Sorry that pic is crap, but there's non one home to take it for me. The front-middle of the shirt where the logo is slumps a little, but I'm going to sew some elastic behind it to keep it up. It's been through the wash and is still holding up well!

Two weeks ago, I felt the need to make some coin purses - and let me tell you, they were SUPER easy. Here are two of them:

Yes, that's the same fabric I used for a wallet that I posted a few weeks ago. I made bunches of coin purses, they just don't all have buttons on them because of my sewing machine's nasty temper. I'm thinking I'll do snaps and sew buttons over them for the others. These were nice and quick and easy.

On Friday night, I decided to make myself a new purse with some fabric I got from the clearance table at work (FabricLand):

Voila!
I know, I know, I need to trim those threads.

Avec mon junk.

Again, this was super easy. I used a Tyvek envelope as interfacing, so it stands up well. The little interior pocket also has Tyvek behind the blue zebra fabric, to keep it stiff. This purse was so straight forward, and I'm really pleased with it. It's the first purse that I've ever made, and I used my imagination, not someone else's instructions..

Thanks for looking!
