Jun. 14th, 2005 03:46 pmhey guys! I tried to stencil for the first time this afternoon... IT
took forever to cut out though.. and I learned through the top few
lines, dont use a q-tip..just use a foam brush. Makes life so much
easier!
hope you like it....

It was fun... I used paper sandwiched between 2 sheets of contact paper, which then I cut out all my areas with my xacto knife.... (what a pita... its a small pattern, so it took forever!)
I then used repositionable spray adhesive to stick the stencil to the shirt, I pressed it down really well, then went to dabbing (daubing?) the paint on with a q-tip, found it was moving the stencil around... which you can see in the first set of blocks... so then I stole a sponge brush from my dad, and got back to the dabbing.... it looks uber cool!
took total, like 1 hour to cut out the stencil, and 5 minutes to mix the paint and get it on there.... best thing... my stencil's reusable... Maybe I'll make more, and sell them at the local geek convention (Ubercon!)(The Geek shall inherit the earth!)
Hmm... now, whats the best way to heat set? Its hot here, I might bring out the iron, or, just toss it in the dryer for a few cycles...
Which one works better?
Thanks!
