So. My mom's birthday is in a month-- the big 5-0. She's going to be freaking out, all "waaah, I'm 50," and so I want to give her something that makes her feel pretty or sexy or both. I picked up some spa stuff for her, but I also want to include something handmade that shows I didn't just fall back on the "girly bath stuff" option.

I've been looking everywhere for a hip-yet-conservative pattern for sewing or knitting, but I can't find anything. I see lots of stuff that I'd love to make for her, but I know she'd never wear it. (Even though she looks amazing, my mom's very self-conscious about her age and appearance, so if something's too tight, revealing or 'young-looking,' she'll be too embarrassed to wear it.) I was thinking about something along these lines, but I'm not sure that I'm at that level of knitting yet.

Sooo... if any of you have any suggestions or tried-and-true mom gift ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thank you!
