Toothbrush Bracelets
Jul. 13th, 2005 09:56 pmI used to make these in Intermediate school, and I was reminded of them by the recent post pertaining to spoon bracelets. Just wanted to share!
You will need:
- A toothbrush, clear hard plastic Oral B's look nice, or you can get a kid's toothbrush that has a little design on the handle. I prefer the flat handled kind.
- Tweezers, or anything to rip out the bristles.
- A pot to boil water in.
- Gloves of some sort to handle the the toothbrush without burning yourself.
Instructions:
1. First rip out all of the toothbrush bristles and boil your water. *Tip from
starshine500: Boil the brush to loosen the plastic before ripping out the bristles.*
2. Put toothbrush in water until it easily bends, which takes about 5 - 10 minutes.
3. Shape the toothbrush into bracelet form. Make sure it can fit around your wrist, and if you used one with a design make sure you have the design facing outward.
4. Then you can put it in the bottom of a glass and put cold water on it to cool it down. If it doesn't come out right you can always re-boil it. We used to just bend the hot handle around our wrist, if you want to do that I recommend covering your wrist somehow.
5. Wear your new bracelet.
Sorry, no pictures. I haven't made one since the 8th grade. Sorry if you all now how to make these already, which you probably all do seeing as how crafty you all are.
