lanterns & last minute gifts

i can't find a paper lantern that i like, so i want to make one myself over wire frame. has anyone ever made one? or can anyone suggest the best type of paper and glue to make one?

someone posted about delias before, and i am making some message/photo boards i saw on there.

i am going to cover cardboard in material, and glue or sew ribbon on top. i'm not sure about this part, so maybe someone has a suggestion?

i figure also that i can make some marble pins to go with them so you can pin up or slide in things onto the board.
