It's that age old problem....
Jul. 20th, 2005 06:28 pmI have big calves. Sometimes I just feel like writing a letter to these companies that make all their boots for skinny-legged people. One or two different fittings wouldn't go amiss!
ANYWAY.
I just won these boots on E-bay

They are lovely and make me feel all funny inside *but* I can't get the last inch and a half zipped up thanks to a combination of unfortunate genes and a love of cakes.
So I was thinking of taking these to a cobbler and asking them to try and fit little elasticated inserts. Does anyone know if shoe repair places generally offer this kind of service (I'm in the UK if that makes a difference) and roughly how much they would charge? I don't think it would ruin the boot to have a little sliver of stretchy stuff behind the zip on the inside, what do you think?
