craftgrrl | The end of it all ~ (selling comments)

Thanks to everyone for participating then the selling comments poll! (If you missed voting on the poll, don't worry ~ the results stayed about the same throughout the voting so I think we got a pretty good representation)

About 55-60% of the community agreed on the new rule ~ "Comments mentioning selling should be deleted only when it is an obvious selling post, and community members have said so. Then the whole post should be deleted."

What does this mean?
If someone has posted in craftgrrl and did not mention selling in the post, but it is obvious from their comments that their only intention was to sell the items ~ then if several community members comment on the post, agreeing that it was only meant for selling, the post will be deleted.

This is a little tricky, but I could not think of a better way to do it ~ that way more than one person agrees on the intent of the post. And it will probably stop the poster from doing it again. (If you know of a better way I wouldn't mind the suggestion)

Can I ask if something is for sale?
Yes ~ but please try to check if they have a selling journal or website listed in their user info first. Most people that have things to sell will have those listed, or else post the craft in their journal. About 20% of the community agreed that they do not want to see any mention of selling on craftgrrl, so please be courteous.

If someone comments in a post asking if something is for sale, the poster should give them their contact information and then move the conversation out of the community. Unless someone actually asks if the item is for sale, please do not give them your selling information. Often someone will only compliment an item and they do not want the poster to try to sell it to them (40% of the community voted that these comments should be deleted).

Hopefully this will be the last of it popping up on your friends page!
