Hot Lava cardigan
Jul. 28th, 2005 09:52 amMeet my new favorite shrug-y thing. :)
The pattern is the 'Hot Lava cardigan' from Blue Alvarez designs and is available here. *edit* People are apparently having trouble pulling up this site...but I seem to be getting it ok. Who knows. :-P I used 3 skeins of MalAbrigo's 100% pure merino wool yarn (sooo soft...like nothing I"ve ever used before) in colorway Olivia.
Modifications are as follows: I added an inch to the already long sleeves for my orangutan arms. Also, I wanted it to be form-fitting, so I made a small, (I'm usually a medium) and used size 10.5 needles as opposed to the 11s called for in the pattern.
The pattern itself is awesome. I recommend it highly. Well written, clear, and with a little fudge room, which is always nice. :)
Now all I need to do is make an awesome brooch to hold it together... :-D
