I was given a lot of yarn by a woman who wasn't using it, and I got some very old/odd colors in the stash.

I got one skein of this. It's raspberry pink, brown, and an off white that looks like it's been stained pink by the raspberry stuff. I am not a fan of this color combination, but the yarn is amazingly soft. I want to say it's a Red Heart brand from the 1970's, but I have no way of knowing since there wasn't a label.

I do have a blanket in progress that's being made with just scrap yarn pieces, but this was a lot of yarn for that and I don't like the colors. So what to do with it?

I'm making kid purses to donated to the local Helping Hands group for Christmas presents, so I thought I'd make a purse.

I know, web cam pics suck but it's all I have right now.

Here's a better pic though darker. It's all hdc  and I'm really pleased with how it came out even though I wouldn't ever carry the thing. It's a very soft bag actually.

I wanted an old-fashioned button for it and really liked this one. I think it goes very well on it considering I'm trying to match a yarn that is over 30 years old.

The inside. I didn't think to put something in it for a size reference. Notice there isn't a lining. Bad things happened when I tried that. I don't have a sewing machine or even a pair of scissors that can cut material worth a darn, so I gave up on the lining after two tries. Any tutorials that someone knows of that I need to read?

OK, I've now made my first post to the community. I'm officially a member now, right? ;)
