Embroidery floss

I got my sublime stitching stuff yesterday and started straight away and am almost finished my very first tea towel, which I will try and post pictures of later. The question i am supposed to be asking is - embroidery floss, how on earth do you keep the stuff. Everytime i change colour and have to open a new bundle it almost imediately gets really tangled. Are there any super nifty little tricks or ways to keep it from tangling or am I going to have to refind the inner peace it takes to untangle the damn stuff. Oh - Are there and websites that sell floss. Nobody here seems to embroider (is that even the right word?) and I can buy one shade of purple or and yucky green but nothing much else, any suggestions?
