pink messenger bag :]

for my first sewing project ever, i made a messenger bag! it's plaid pink:





the real reason behind making this bag is because my boyfriend keeps on stealing my black one and this joint-custody thing just isn't working out. so like the typical, motherly* woman i am, i abandoned my child and moved on to something bigger, better, and cooler.

the other reason i needed this bag is because the other one would not comfortably fit this bastard of sketchbooks:



so i made it:





lined, wif zipper. i have a basic fabric strap attached to it right now but i'm going to go to the store and pick up some real strap material because the fabric isn't strong enough.

i posted this on craftster.org and was told that it would look cool with a black star or skull, but i kind of like the fabric to stand alone. opinions? suggestions?
