007: card-making advice

craftgrrlSo I've been making "cards".
That is, I've been folding cardstock in half and using Elmer's glue to attach construction paper, ribbon, and scrapbook paper.
Now that it's dry, it's awfully wrinkly. Would ironing it help? Or have I gone about this card making thing the wrong way? If so, can someone school me in the ways of Card Making? Please help. Thanks.
