Crocheted Hat

I am truly an amateur with a crochet hook.  I have never really been taught how. So, I make hats. Unfortunately, I always make them too large or too small. This hat was *meant* for my 18 year-old daughter, but ended up being the right size for my 4 year-old. If anyone knows where I can go to find clear instructions on how to make a hat the size I want, I would appreciate it. (Oh, and I still don't have this LJ cut business down, yet. Forgive the edit process.
