Well, I'm working on stuff for an upcoming show, and since I make jewelery, I really needed something big, something to pop out at the people walking by. I found her in the garbage pile at work:

While people would look, they'd all be scared away. So, I thought long and hard about ways to make her cool. The original idea was simple; paint her a different color. I was going to do blue, with blue swirlies...but then I remembered something I saw at the hardware store!

She's a little damaged, so I sanded and spackled her...

(the weird blue over her eyes is painters tape. I decided, since they were really inset plastic eyes, I'd try and save them)

And then I primed her, in gray. Yes, that's me spray painting her boob. The pictures you get when boys have the camera...


Fast forward about 4 hours, when the final coat of paint is on... (Can you guess what it is? And don't her eyes look cool?)

And....

I now have the coolest chalkboard on the planet! Thanks to chalkboard spraypaint! And the chalk washed off beautifully, so I can do different designs. I think she'll be awesome sitting on my table at the show - a real eye grabber. I think I've got to get her a wig, though...maybe false eyelashes. That'd be cool.

I wonder what my neighbors think ^.^
