Aug. 19th, 2005 08:39 pmHey all. I've been watching the community for a few days now and I'm always so excited to see what other people have produced, and thought it was about time to start sharing my own. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are some of the clothing projects I've been working on over the past few months. If anyone's interested, I think I'll post some of my non-clothing crafts in the near future too.
DIY leopard print mini skirt:
the black portion of this skirt was salvaged from another (long, small, hideous) skirt which came with the lovely cargo pockets. The leopard print is some amazing stretchy fabric i found and the 'pattern' for the skirt was completely improvised by and for me.

hat-from-scratch:
i decided recently that i wanted a hat. so i made one. it's actually not nearly as wonky as it looks in the pictures, and the canvas is a much richer shade. anyway, it took a damn long time and i'm pretty proud of how it came out, considering i had no pattern and no hat to use as reference for the shape.

silly commie shirt:
this was a colaboration between one of my housemates and i. i drew marx and she made a contact paper stencil of him, which we proceeded to turn into a batch of several mildly offensive shirts.

and a closeup of comrade marx

green and black skirt + band shirt:
this skirt was made from a pattern i made off another skirt i had. i love it like it were my own child, which it pretty much is. the shirt is my band's logo, which i designed and stencilled. the stencil job isn't great, but that's probably because it was made from an empty beer box.

anyway, i hope you enjoyed them! comments are always welcome...
