Hello there
Aug. 20th, 2005 02:08 pmI figured that after lurking around for a few weeks, I should finally join the community and make some posts. You've probably seen me slinking around anything Star Wars related on here.
And hey, I DO in fact craft!

This hat was made for a good friend of mine (who just turned 14, but is AWESOMELY mature on the Net). I heard that her birthday was coming up, and not satisfied with making a mere drawing for her, I went all out. Using fleece, felt, fabric paints and a sewing machine, I cranked out a hat and scarf modelled after a character of hers in just one night. It is definately one of my better hats that I have made, and I was almost sorry to ship it out to her. But she squealed and ran around with glee when she got it, so I felt pretty happy anyway. ^^
The front of the hat, when supported by a flimsy foam head.
A side view. The spikes are stuffed and sewn so that they will stick up, but I was only partially successful. The hat looks MUCH better on a proper human head.
The matching scarf, with one end of fringe and the other ending in a spiked tail.
A shot of the fringed end.
And the "tail" end.
::EDIT:: Fixed a few photo and HTML errors!
Sorry that there's only one pic for this one, but I needed to make a collage of a lot of images to put up on deviantART instead of many. It's just a fleece panel and some patterned backing, but it's so soft and warm. And hey, who wouldn't want to snuggle up under the burning fires of Mustafare?

And that's all I have, for now. I'll be sure to post more as I finish my last summer projects, including some pajama pants, some revamped jeans, and my customized glow-star cargoes.
