Hi, this is my first post here, though I've been lurking for awhile (isn't that always the story). My friend really wanted me to help her make a skirt out of some fabric she bought, and I ended up getting inspired and making a skirt for myself too, out of some fabric I bought about a month ago. And now I want to show off, of course!

Please excuse the awkward angles of the pictures, I had nobody around to help me so I had to put my camera on automatic and set it on my desk.

The pockets are made out of remnants of the fabric that my friend made her skirt out of. It's a lot more stretchy than the brown fabric, so the pockets tend to stick out a bit...I haven't figured out a solution for that yet. Also I accidentally made them too shallow. That's what I get for cutting and sewing without thinking first!

Aand, here is a necklace I made for my brother for his birthday:

A bead store nearby me is going out of business and everything is discounted, so I went to check it out. I saw the fish bead and immediately thought of my brother, and so this necklace was born. Last summer when I learned to make hemp jewelry he asked me to make him something and I said yes, and then I forgot until he mentioned it again about a year later, so I knew he'd appreciate it. And I was right, he put it on immediately after he opened it!

Well, thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed!
