[livejournal.com profile] rocknrollpsycho bought all these tiny glass stars for... whatever reason, and she sent me several. They just kind of sat around until I decided to try my hand at wire wrapping. So, first try (so excuse the crappiness).

It's a necklace, made with skinny copper wire--I really need to buy some thicker wire--that red glass star, and red chinese pressed glass beads. I made it because I had this shirt that was begging for a necklace and no necklace to wear with it--and then I made the necklace too long for the shirt. Whoops! I like it this way, though.

Same style, only with silver-colored wire and iridescent fiber optic stars. Crappy picture, but all the pretty pictures of the necklace don't have the earrings in them. Oh, woe.

These earrings refuse to be photographed nicely. 22g Silver-colored wire forced into a star shape by hand with little pink danglies. There are those iridescent stars again! I love stars.

Also impossible to photograph. I slipped the beads onto a length of wire, poked it into a tube (empty pen barrel, actually), and wrapped the rest of the wire around the outside. The drops on the ends are clear glass with pink swirls on them, which is just freaking awesome.

Peruvian ceramic astronauts. The easiest to make--I just had to attach the beads to the fish hook--but my favorites. Because... astronauts!

Ahh, this took forever. Two shades of 3mm purple glass beads for the bracelet, which was originally supposed to be a bib necklace. It didn't hang right. Anyway, each bead is strung on a separate piece of wire, with jump rings holding the whole beast together. Silver-coated chain on the outside to hold it together and connecting it to a ring so it doesn't flop about ridiculously. The ring is just a really fast bling bling ring I put together with help from a Craftster tutorial--I can find it if anyone wants it, but my computer's being a little funny right now...
The beads in the ring are also purple glass, and the whole thing is too small. I wasn't actually WEARING it in that picture (you can probably tell) because I'd been wearing it all day and getting it on and off was chafing something awful. I suppose I'll redo it one of these days when I'm not being unbelievably lazy.

Also: my family moved from California to Washington in 1996. We thought it was going to be a pretty short fiasco, so we pretty much tossed any old crap into storage and took off. Needless to say, it wasn't a fast ordeal, and for various reasons we're only now getting that storage unit cleaned out. Most of it is entirely useful crap, but it's also a fun time capsule from the mid-90s! So my POINT: I found my pogs! If you don't remember pogs, they were round bits of cardboard with pictures on them that you used to play... some game that totally escapes me now. I didn't have that many--I always got into fads really halfassedly--and so far I've located about 16. Batman, Robin, Harley Davidson, dolphins... my favorite is one with "NOT" crossed out and "not sucks!" written in tiny letters around the outside, because... what the hell? Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for them?
