Theme Party Invite Ideas?

craftgrrlMy mom is planning a "Fortune" party, complete with a psychic and a tarot reader. She's asked me to make the invitations but I am STUMPED. I've searched for ideas and am not finding anything neat or fun or remotely interesting. I thought, where can I find the neatest, craftiest people? OH! CRAFTGRRL! So, here I am.
I was thinking about printing invitations with a crystal ball on the front and something about "Your fortune lies within" then cutting out the round part of the ball and gluing a sparkly/translucent/iridescent paper there with the party details inside. But I don't know. It's just kinda meh.
It's not going to be a lot of invitations, so I'm not very worried about the work involved, but I want something unusual and fun. Eye-catching. Can anyone help? I promise to post pics of the finished product. Thank you all so much
