Hello hello! My name is Emily, and I've been crafting since, well, forever! I've been lurking here for weeks in an attempt to reawaken my crafting spirit.
Here are some things I've finished recently (please excuse the craptacular pics):

My computer-key bracelet! Making the keys into beads was so &*#^$( time-consuming! Here's what it looks like on:

This is my Lucky Star bracelet (I love bracelets, can you tell?). I folded each of these stars out of strips of paper (if anyone has any suggestions for these besides jewelry, please speak up, as I have over 400 of these stars!) Here's what this one looks like on:

Lovely, isn't it?
Now for my question. Today, through no fault of my own, I had to buy a plain, boring backpack for school this year. It was the only once with a special section for my baby (ie, my laptop). It is very boring and black, and I want to make it fancier. It has silver trim that I'm going to colour pink with Sharpies, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
~Emily
EDIT: I just bought a beading set, and was thinking . . . could I bead the backpack? Like, just following the decorative stitching on the front with seed beads? Would that work? (I have NO experience with beading on fabric, just with jewelry)
