my friend matt is entering his third year as a RA at wright state university and this year we helped him come up with possibly the best floor theme ever... george orwell's 1984.

here's another shot of one of two of the large posters, which i made on photoshop and ran through the rasterbator to blow up. there's also single-page sized versions of this poster scattered along the walls and quarter-page sized ones that matt is going to slip under doors to remind his residents of floor meetings and such. also note the fake surveillance camera which has apparently tricked several people despite being literally taped to the windowsill. we've found it turned to face the wall as well as having the cord unplugged from the back.

his bulletin board of flyers that manage to nicely tie together regular flyers he'd have to make with the theme...
some close-ups:

i wanted to make huge banners with the party slogans, but we decided that might not be too good of an idea.

we also made a sign for matt's door that says "the ministry of love" on it, but i forgot to get a picture.
unfortulately, it seems that 1984 goes widely unread these days, since most of matt's residents seem to have no idea what any of this stuff is from, and often the comment "what's with all this big brother stuff?" is heard while kids go walking down the halls. oh well, i know i sure as heck am enjoying it a lot.
