I promised a post with pics a few days ago, so I'm finally doing it. After taking pics with the web cam, I decided I'm going to get a cheap digital camera as soon as I can afford it. Problem is money is very tight. Sigh.

I got this huge skein of Red Heart yarn and decided to make some stuff with it for donating this Christmas. I am helping our local Helping Hands chapter and crocheting various things for them to use as Christmas presents for needy families.

This shows the colors better. There's no lining in it, so it's floppy, but some little girl will like it just the same. I still have a lot of the yarn left and am working on a scarf as well. For Red Heart, this yarn is soft. Not Angora soft, but I'd still take a blanket out of it. There's another color I'd like to get and make some things out of as well.

My friend gave me a bunch of yarn that she didn't want anymore. Either skeins that she was done with or projects that she decided she wasn't going to do. She even gave me a bunch of Caron's Simply Soft that she was going to use for a blanket and then decided she didn't like knitting with it. It's a color combo I wouldn't have thought of for me, but I love it! I'm not allowing myself to start it until after I donate a bunch of stuff first though.

A blurry close-up of the stripes. She gave me the varigated, someone else had given me the green months earlier. There wasn't much green to do anything with except add to another project, so the varigated came as a very welcome surprise. It's not a color combo I like for myself, but I do like the way the scarf turned out. It's being donated too unless someone says they want to buy it beforehand. Sounds greedy, I know, but I'm making a lot of stuff and I'm not obligated to make a certain amount.

I made this during the summer just so I could say I crocheted a purse. It's a child's size and came out adorable! The flower is a scrunchie since for some silly reason I can't just crochet a flower. Go figure. My oldest son gave it to a girl for her birthday along with some bracelets and other scrunchies to use for her hair. But this is what made me decide to start donating something besides scarves and blankets. They are easy to make and really are very cute.

I have three scarves in progress and am still working on a lapghan with some more donated yarn I received. I want to get it done soon, but the yarn got tangled up and I need to fix it first. :\
