Setting Eyelets

Say I had a pair of pants and I wanted to add some eyelets to them, it'd be done the same way you'd do it on paper, correct? Punch a hole, then set it in place with the tools and such.


I have a pair of jeans I want to tighten around the thighs, but I want to do it in a cooler fashion, by making it corset like, yanno, or like in your shoes, just lace it up, tighten as need be, loose as wanted, lace the laces all cool and such.


I should just set the eyelets where I want/need them, and set them into place, correct? Or what would you suggest.
