Fairy Necklace

This silver fairy charm has like a button shank on it. I've had it for a while, but wasn't sure how to string it so it would hang right. Anyway it looks good like this. 4 strands of glass seed & rocaille beads in purples, blues and silver.
Also I have a question. How the hell do you keep knots tied on necklaces? I strung this once on waxed nylon beading string and it broke. Then I strung it again and glued the knots with super glue, like I usually do. Is there a better method to ensure it won't break? I had been using kelvar (sp?) thread and the knots loosen in that. A woman at a bead shop told me that kelvar is bad because of that and told me to use the wax coated nylon, but the knots loosen and come undone on that too!
