Resin vs. Epoxy?

When I was buying my first bottle of resin the other day, I noticed that there was clear casing epoxy and clear casting resin. What is the difference between the two? Not like the chemical differences, but has someone tried both and noticed a difference?

I tried my first resin project with a 2-part sphere mold that I made with molding clay. Not very successful, but hopefully I can work out the problems next time. Does anyone have a favorite resin tip? I've read through the mem's but wouldn't mind extra information... Especially on how to keep the stink out of the house. (I took everything outside to make it, and let it sit outside overnight to dry, but my husband is giving me the evil eye.)
