Hello craftgirls!
This is my first post, but I've been inspired by this group for quite some time! I'm currently taking a mosaics class, so I've been doing a lot of that, but I also love making jewelry, scrapbooking, and lots of crafts! I've been super productive this summer, so I'll be showing a lot of it off as I am able to take pictures of it!
Tonight I'm sharing the gifts I made for my sister's 18th birthday, all inspired by the celtic knot beads...

While vacationing and shopping in downtown Asheville NC this summer, I found an awesome bead shop. Found the celtic knot beads ([livejournal.com profile] ilea found some at artbeads.com), the large green vintage jade beads, and shiny green seed beads there. Everything else was found at Micheal's.

She liked them

I decided I wanted to mosaic something for her too, so, using the supplies available, I made this:

7 inch square box

Originally I wanted to use only green to go with the beads, but there weren't enough tiles, so I added the blue, and I love it.

After that, I decided to mosaic the inside of the box...

Something special inside

I was inspired by some artwork I saw in NC, and found a way to glue pics to clear glass and then mosaic them! I plan to make a lot more stuff using this idea! Here it is before I grouted it:

Love you always

Sorry I forgot to take pics after I grouted, but it turned out nice. None of the grout seeped under the glass like I was afraid!

Thanks for looking!
