Oct. 20th, 2005 02:45 pmOk, my sad, sad sewing machine(a singer stylist, born in 1971) is having a really rough time lately. I was hoping maybe you all could give me some insight on how to make him feel better.
Here's the problem: I'll be sewing along just fine, when suddenly the thread frays and comes flying out of the needle.
My attempts to fix:
-new needle(at least 5 times)
-cleaning the bobbin dungeon
-different(higher and lower) quality thread
-new bobbin
-sewing slower
-sewing faster
-giving it a rest(maybe its just tired??)
-re-threading a number of times, making sure I wasn't missing anything
-having pals try it, to see if it was something strange I was doing
-calling Momma crying that I don't know what else to try(she suggested all the things I'd already tried, I know its bad when it stumps my mum!)

Any ideas??
