First project with Knifty Knitter
Nov. 17th, 2005 01:43 pmLast Sunday, I spent the whole day with my mom, while my husband went
deer hunting with my dad and brother at my parents' home. Mom and
I went to Michael's (they just opened the new store a few weeks ago)
first. They happened to have a demonstration on
how to use the Knifty Knitter. I bought one on sale (was supposed to be
14.99 but was on sale for
9.99! Walmart has those for 11.99). The demonstrator was an
interesting person. It was a man, who was working at
Michaels. He was
bald but had inch thick sideburns, and tattooed all over. He
actually
volunteered to do it, which confused his co-workers! Mom and I
went up
(mom interpreted most of it) and asked him how to use it, since I was
buying it. It was so easy! Mom was laughing at the
unexpected appearance of the demonstrator but it certainly made it
interesting. Hey, if he can do it, I can do it!
Now I'm proudly showing off my first project which I just finished this morning! I used cheap regular black yarn and *sky blue* fun fur. What could I make with those?
(inside view) Halfway done. You can see the Knifty Knitter loom thing and the yarn already knitted.
same thing here. :) Just sideways view.
Finished result! with the yarns in view.
Close up. Sorry it's not a great picture. Wish my camera had a good focus feature in it...but oh well.
My husband wants a camo hat...but without the fun fur of course. I found some camo yarn...but he wants the bright orange hunter color woven into it (just like my hat). I can't find it anywhere, which I'm surprised because it's hunting season here! What other colors would be good with the camo yarn?
Dad also wants a camo hat...probably just gonna be camo only or with black. He'll be happy with whatever I make. Mom wants a scarf with black fun fur. :) Cheap Christmas gifts! Easy on the budget. :-D
Also...what other colors should I mix for my next project for myself? (scarf or hat...maybe a pillow or even a purse?) I like it mixed...makes it more interesting and not boring. :)
