Opinions, please!

I'm making this Gummi Monster... "thing" as a birthday gift.
It's supposed to be a sort of cover/bag for a bag of gummi bears, because.. well, as you all know, gummi bears make the world go round.

What I still don't know, and that's where you'll step in, is which "side" should the opening be in.
Until I make up my mind on that, I can't sew on/glue the face.
Let me try to explain...

See what I mean? (Those blue squiggles are supposed to be the gummi bear bag.)

I'm leaning towards the first option, because if I magically got the bag to stand up, with the 'cover' on, you'd have to pull it up to see the contents instead of just looking in (if the opening was on top) but I'll let you crafty girls get your say on this subject before I do anything. ^^;
