ho ho--holy hell!
Dec. 5th, 2005 10:18 amI've been waiting to post pictures of handcrafted Christmas gifts this year (so that I wouldn't ruin any surprises), but now I can finally post my FAVORITE one since I gave it to its new owner this past weeekend.
My friend loves opera and zombies. Guess what I made her?
I made her her very own "little opera girl" zombie doll:

She is made entirely of fleece, and has a zipper mouth (my first zipper!), hot purple maryjanes, candy-striped 'ballet slipper' underwear, and a flashy, shreddy dress that's just *perfect* for performing. Her hair can go up in ponytails (as seen), or up in any number of diva-esque styles. You can't see the bite mark stitched onto her forehead very well in this picture, but I promise you that she is totally infected. Don't ask what nastiness is in her mouth...you'll see! Muahaha.

A better look at the back of her dress and hairstyle. I'm in love with her ponytails.

I can't remember the screenname for the poster on here that used to put zipper mouths on things, but I borrowed the idea because it was so neat. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to make a detailed, lobe-y brain out of fleece? NOT EASY, my friends. I couldn't deprive her of her favorite snack though, so there it is. :)

One last pic, just to show her unders and sassy little shoes. Everything but the dress is sewn onto the doll, so she's super easy to change, should we decide to make her other outfits.
And, being a dork, I already have one planned for myself (based on the hot number to the left with the wrench, my FAVORITE zombie from Romero's "Land of the Dead"):

Man, making stuff for people is fun! Thanks for checking out my fleecy insanity. ;)
