So I made one of my monsters into a purse:




It turned out pretty well. i had to make the arms longer so it would go over my shoulder and had to insert a thick wire "spine" so he wouldn't sag over when hanging. The paws can unclip so he can be in "stuffed animal" mode where the arms hang normally, I attached lobster claw clasps. The zipper and the inside pocket were pretty easy but one problem I have is that the fur gets caught in the zipper if i dont take the time to flatten it away before zipping. i might try shaving down the fur by the zipper with an electric shaver..if anyone has a better method I'd love to hear it. The purse doesnt hold that much, a wallet and a small cell phone but they looks he gets from folks is worth not being able to haul around much. I'm a little nervous about his face getting messed up but I put a coat of protective brush on varnish and so far no problems.The face is made of a strong plastic so I think it can take some abuse as long as I dont swing him by the legs and smack someone, though I thought about it today with the way Christmas shoppers around here behave. i might look into casting the purse faces in a flexible material ( not rubber),if anyone has ideas again i'd love to know.
