and a real personalised fortune inside!

now go make your own!

Directions to make them:
1. cut a circle out of felt about 3" in diameter
2. write out a fortune that suits your intended recipent (or whatever). place centered on top of your circle.
3. fold felt in half and then bring the two points together so that it looks like a real cookie.
4. sew around the edges to keep the cookie closed. don't forget to sew the two points together so that it doesn't pop open.
5. before you cut your thread, sew on a ribbon. also, don't forget to leave space so the recipent can take the fortune out if they want to.
6. add hang tag by using your needle to poke a hole in the corner.
7. tie off your thread. cut.
8. PRESTO! fortune cookie ornaments!

i made a ton of these little felt fortune cookies as christmas presents. personalised the fortunes too. i'm planning on putting them in little folded take out boxes from this site here:

including a couple extra real cookies. that way they wont be tempted to eat them, and they have a loop of ribbon to hang from the tree. i just kind of wung it...

i found the directions above on google after i made mine for another crafter to look at. they are a little wonky though... i hand sewed mine, the felt was a lighter color, almost pinkish, i put the ribbon loop on for a hanger, and my fortunes were personalised for the recipient (dont forget to put a tag/sticker on it so you know who they go to!, lol)

and again, "don't forget to say "in bed" after reading your fortune!"
