holiday party dress!

craftgrrlmade this for my swanky near year's eve bash and the office holiday party.
It's lined with purple satiny-stuff, which shows through in person but you can't tell. it started out as a big sheet of black crimpy fabric, and for some reason i had wrapped it around myself for another project and decided it needed to become a dress. this is the first time i've made a dress 100% out of scratch with no pattern or pre-existing garment, so i'm pretty exciting. also the first time i put a zipper in anything i intended to wear, and that went surprisingly okay. it's a bit lumpy in the back (getting my grandma to fix that) but overall I really like it. i was going for an art deco/what would Lindsay Lohan wear? type thing. it's worn with black velvet peep-toe heels.
