vinyl: first time sewing; long time adoring.

I have a question for the vinyl experienced: what do I need to sew it? I mean, what type of needles should I get? Do I need a special kind of foot? I have a Singer Stylist 533. It's a pretty basic sewing machine. Do I need a new sewing machine (if so, I'm just forgetting the whole thing)?
I checked the memories but I found nothing :(
