Gingerbread Men, Gingerbread Gals, Planes and Trains
3/4 c flour
1 egg
1 Tbsp honey
1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. rolled oats
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Heat honey in the microwave for 20 seconds. Mix all ingredients together and form into a ball. Flour your surface and roll dough out (it helps to put a sheet of cling wrap over the dough while rolling out). With cookie cutters (I used small, festive Williams-Sonoma cookie cutters), cut dough shapes out and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 350ยบ for about 8 to 10 minutes. This recipe makes about 40 to 45 dog biscuits.

I had five dogs to make treats for this Christmas so I sort them equally into plastic bags and wrote their names on them in Sharpie. My Dusty's already gotten a sneak peek at his present as he was the treat tester. I'd say I did well as he followed me around each time a batch was done.
