"Long time lurker, first time poster."
The backstory: I planned and coordinated an 80s themed party for my company's holiday hootenanny. I encouraged all to dress up and was totally stoked. Until it was the night before and I realized that with all the planning, I had forgotten to get an outfit.

The skirt in action! (I'm thanking people for coming and telling them to drink more.)
The tier fabric was leftover from a surprise party I threw for my boyfriend (it was the table cloth), black on one side and metallic blue on the other.
The base of the skirt was an old black skirt style slip I had. It came to the knee, but that's way too long for an 80s party skirt, so I cut it shorter and just attached the tier ruffles. Huzzah!
