I hope this isn't against any rules, but I'd like to let everyone know about a community I just started, art_crochet. As the name all too obviously says, it's dedicated to the art side of crochet, rather than the traditional or strictly utilitarian side. The idea is to have a common space for people who want to create new and different things with their hooks, and go in a different direction from the scarves and afghans we all know so well.

This isn't intended as competition with other communities, quite the opposite. I encourage cross-posting, and I hope that the members of my community will also be part of several others. It's intended primarily as a meeting place, and a venue to widen the exposure of artists working with our beloved craft.

In any case, I welcome everyone to come check it out. Again, the community is art_crochet. I'll be happy to see you there.
