im trying to dye a scarf using wilton food dye. and it wont seam to stick. im trying to make a purple, but it will only pick up the pink. I have added vintager and i boiled it on the stove for a half hour, nothing, then i did it in the microwave, setting it for 2mins about 5 times. still nothing.....

I also tried to make another scarf brown, but no luck, its coming out a salmon pink instead....

im using alpaca in fingering weight...

any help would greatly be appreciated!
