My boyfriend and I are both avid World of Warcraft fans. I am also (so people say) handy with a sewing needle. We often play WoW together, and one of the characters he created to play with mine is a female tauren shaman named Urbina. Tauren look a bit like cows on two legs, so I was inspired to use a sewing pattern for a plush cow and re-create her.

A screenshot of Urbina, level 24 tauren shaman, for reference:

Her outfit is her guild tabard (the character also wears lots of regular clothes/armor, but plush Urbina is so small all I could really fit in was one thing - so I did the tabard, as that distinguishes her from other characters.) As an engineer, Urbina can also craft and wear goggles - mine are doll glass frames painted white and held on with a faux leather strap. She's made out of cotton velvet (velveteen) and felt. This was a summer project because I'm a full-time student and tend to just work (and play video games ;) ) during the semester, but I had so much fun making and gifting her I couldn't resist sharing.

*For the non-gaming crowd: WoW is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, probably the most popular in the world. It's set in a fantasy universe with elves and orcs and humans - but there's also the strangely cuddly tauren race, who live on the open plains and are closely tied to the land. They lend themselves to three-dimensional representation by seamstresses a bit better than more humanoid races!
