Knitting Basics
Dec. 28th, 2005 10:59 pmSo my friend and I are going to be ambitious tomorrow. We're going to go to shopping and buy some things and learn how to knit. We'll be learning from books and we can pull my mom over if we get stuck.
What do I need, aside from yarn? As for needles, what size is good (to start with, for certain projects, for certain yarns) etc etc?
I'm a complete n00b at this (obviously)! But we figured it would be a good way to pass the day and it's something we've wanted to learn for awhile anyway.
I want to try to pull off a "Mark Scarf" (navy and white striped scarf) and she's thinking of doing a scarf as well.
Thanks for any tips/hints you can give me!
Aside from that, normally I bead and do some wire work. I could live at A.C. Moore if I could.
I'll post pictures tomorrow or Friday with some updates on my knitting adventures.
