gnaw

one of my cats chewed the tip of one of my bamboo knitting needles! little bastard... anyway, i filed it down with an emery board and it's functional enough but still snags the yarn a little. i plan to continue sanding it, but does anybody know what i could use as a light glaze/varnish to smoothify them again? i was going to brush on a little clear nail polish but that might be too harsh...

they're my first pair of bamboo needles! i don't want them to die prematurely!
