Gifts for friends.
Jan. 3rd, 2006 10:47 pmI think i'm addicted to this community, but have never actually posted anything, but I guess now I will.
I decided to make all my friends gifts this year for Christmas which always seems more meaningful and is much easier on the wallet for an unemployed high school student.
So without further adieu
I wasn't too sure on this one, but my friend loved it, which is what really mattered, there's a short handle, but it's tucked inside so you can use it as a clutch.

I was quite reluctant in giving this one away. It's made from an old blazer of my dads. The button hole foot thing to my ancient sewing machine is long lost, so i made use of one of the button holes on the blazer. This one also has a strap (which I forgot to take a picture of), made from the collar of the blazer so it was already nice and stiff with brown felt on the underside. Lined with an old red t-shirt and with the detailing of some red lace ribbon I had laying around, this literally cost me nothing to make.

I also made my brother a wallet for christmas from the same tweed, but never got to take a picture of it. He totally loved it and couldn't believe I made it (he was away for school so I hadn't seen him in four months, and I had taken up sewing in that time), so now he's convinced he get my stuff sold at this amazing vintage/local designers store here in the city, which I may look into, because being able to make some extra money off of something I love to do would be great.
Okay, okay, enough rambling, I love this place, So I'll probably post more when i get more pictures taken and or make some new things.
