T-shirts in Disguise!!

ZOMG first post for meeee! XD

Bonjour! I love this community muchly. Forgive the squeeing - this is quite nerveracking!

...as of late, I have never got chance to sew as much as I'd like, but on Tuesday I made this bag entirely from scratch using an old XL Transformers' T-shirt. ^_^



It took a solid 6 hours from start to finish and I forgot to eat dinner. For me, that is sewing hardcore!!

Materials;

• Old shirt


• Black lining material


• Black suit material


• Purple and black trim


• Black plastic D-rings and clips


• Backpag strapping (2 x sizes)


• ...Shedloads of black cotton XD

Pretty simple, sewing in straight lines. I'm very messy and do things very slapdash. So to cut things out and pin them together accurately was a bit different for me! The mechanics broke my head though, like sewing the zip with the bag-flap the wrong way 'round, eheh! ^^'\ Ah well, it all worked out OK in the end. ^_^

Inside
You can see that I made gaps and stuff for the pens/erasers. The flap closes by using clips to fasten flap to the body of the bag, if required.

The bag is for a friend who draws (but not as much as he perhaps should!), so this bag was designed to carry a sketchbook or two as well as various pens, so there is no excuse for not drawing more, now! ^_~ 8
