Soap and Valentine's Day Beginnings
Jan. 17th, 2006 12:22 amGetting ready for Valentine's Day. I like this day. It's such a good excuse to make things that are pretty and girly.
Got the very cute heart ice-cube tray at Target someone on here mentioned:

Later I'm going to use it to make bath bombs which is a requested item by my best friend. I think they'll look awesome.
Made some buttermilk glycerin heart soaps:

Powdered buttermilk. It all sank to the bottom. My timing needs some tuning.
Made some lemon zest glycerin soaps:

The zest is well distributed throughout the soap. These are gonna be great.
Made a little crochet heart pin out of some mohair:

And a question: What are good wrappings for round soap? I tried wax paper, but it looks sloppy because I couldn't get it to fold nicely around the curve. I tried saran wrap but it looks like...saran wrap. Any other ideas?
