Has anyone had any experience polishing/finishing brass? (I don't mean removing tarnish.) I have a large brass bowl that has a dark antique finish. The finish itself looked terrible, so I am using steel wool to take it off. It's working quite well, however, it's leaving the brass a bit scratched-looking, and I'm already using a very fine wool. Is there any way to make it all shiny and really smooth without giving it another finish?
